Paris Jackson emerges as surprise voice of memorial

With her brief speech, 11-year-old Paris Jackson also shocked the event’s organizers, who said her appearance was not a planned part of the star-studded tribute to the King of Pop at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on Tuesday.

“Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine,” she said, fighting back tears as relatives consoled her.

“And I just want to say that I love him so much,” she said as she burst into tears and sought refuge in the embrace of family members.

For many watching, Paris’ appearance marked a rare glimpse of a child who has spent most of her life shielded from the public.

Born to two mothers — Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe and an unidentified woman who reportedly served as a surrogate — Jackson’s three children lived and traveled the world with him, their faces often covered by veils and masks when appearing in public.

    I love MJ and thought for the most part the Memorial was great. Brooke Shields was so emotional for me, you could see she really loved him. And Al Sharpton was AMAZING. But when the whole family got up there and Prince is chewing his gum and Paris is playing with her purse just made her speech seem so fake. I hate saying that bc MJ was a true angelic soul but the family lowering the mic for her and Janet Jackson having to get her to stop plaing around up there just ruined it for me. Everyone is saying how emotional she was but it just seems fake to me. Not to mention why did Janet Jackson call Versace and ask them to deck out the whole family in Versace. If I was riddled with devastation from losing my brother that would be the LAST thing on my mind. It was tacky!!!!

    Paris can now SEE – no more Blankies – At Last – she will SEE the world for what it is. Paris is the New Star of the Jackson CLAN – move over Joe, Katherine et.al.
