7-alarm NYC Chinatown fire injures 25

NEW YORK CITY – A seven-alarm fire broke out in Manhattan’s Lower East Side Chinatown neighborhood on Sunday night, injuring 25 people, NBC News affiliate WNBC reported.

At least 250 firefighters were battling the blaze, a New York Fire Department official told WNBC. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that two dozen firefighters and three civilians had been injured.

BNO News earlier reported that two elderly civilians were taken to hospital in critical condition, while a third who inhaled smoke was hospitalized with minor injuries.
