When I was in grade school (many years ago) we had a kid that was a bit of a bully. One of his favorite things to do was to smack people on the head as he walked behind them. Of course, everybody disliked him. If a person tried to stop him, he would find you out on the playground at recess. One day, the teacher had finally had enough of this punk and sat him in a chair at the front of the class facing the away from everybody. The entire class was instructed to form a line, and one by one we were each given turns at popping him on the top of the head. Let me tell you that boy learned a lesson that day. He never bothered anybody again and the rest of the class learned how to take care of bullies that day. Of course nowadays, the teacher would be fired for being cruel to the bully.

I'll split the cost with you Sue. On the other side Spirit Airlines belongs in a third world country. The planes are like russian crap you see that crash all the time. You will know what I mean when the welded over ashtrays on the armrests are visable and the rusty wings crunch & grind at 30,000 feet.

I had to get hammered just to shake off the flight and drive home.......

The rescue of the 33 miners just goes to show what people can do when they all come together for a common cause. It was good to see the President of Chile so personally involved and concerned and there to personally great each miner as he came out. Our present president could take a few lessons.

Unless you have been through the experiences these men have been through or have a loved one in the military you have no ideas what demons haunt their sleep at night. Most of these young men have been raised that killing is wrong-turn the other cheek-"play nice with others". the military teaches them the exact opposite so it's no wonder these young people are taking their own lives. Obviosly this country is only worried about recruit them, teach them how to kill efficiently, and then when they get back just tell them you can forget everything you did over there-it's all ok. Some of these young people have a consciece and just can't live with what they have done. We have no business being over there and we have no right to drive these young people to take their own lives just to get relief from what they saw and did over there.
What is wrong with this country. They are going to give the illegal persons amnesty to stay in this country.why. With all the unemployment, we can not make a living. Why don't they think of the United State of America first. Everyone else get what they want and we get nothing. We help everyone else in the world but our self. The people broke the law,and we are going to help them. If we did something wrong in another country we would be put in jail and could not get out. Think of the American people first.

I realize that the times we live in are just too damned weird to focus any degree of attention on a rock 'n' roll band that released its final recording forty-years-ago last month - two of whose members are gone from our midst. Think about it. In 1969, at the height of all that was going on then, any columnist who would have devoted a entire page to the greatness of the Paul Whiteman Orchestra would have been laughed out of the business. But this isn't just any band we're talking about here. With the exception of the President's address to a joint session of Congress last night, I didn't spend much time yesterday focusing on affairs of state. September 9, 2009 belonged to the Beatles.

Yesterday marked the long-awaited release of a box set containing all fourteen albums recorded by the Fab Four between the years 1962 and 1970. What makes this package different from what has previously been available is the fact that the engineers at EMI (the studio in London where they did most of their work) have digitally remastered the recordings from the original multi-track tapes. It was like listening to them for the first time all over again. The Beatles have never sounded better - I didn't even think that was possible!

Let me attempt the impossible and sum up the Beatles' message in one sentence: We are the makers of our own dreams. That works for me.

Dream. Dream away.
